Description
- TAF is a prodrug that is absorbed more quickly than TDF
- Produces higher levels of the active drug, known as tenofovir diphosphate
- Can be given in smaller doses (25 mg Vs 300 mg)
Leading to lower drug levels in the blood and less exposure
for the kidneys, bones and other organs.
Dosage-
- Tenofovir Alafenamide works best when taken with meals or just afterwards.
- Taking it without food does not reduce its effectiveness
